Acupuncture to support IVF
We know through the experience of treating others, that going through the IVF journey can be extremely stressful & it is not likely the way you saw your journey towards parenthood.
There are many reasons why you may be needing IVF. You may need it because you have certain medical problems (No fallopian tubes, PCOS, endometriosis etc) or because of a genetic problem which you do not want passing on to your child. You may also have that vague and frustrating diagnosis of unexplained fertility where everything seems okay but you are not conceiving. Preparation for IVF
Acupuncture treatment for 3 months before IVF gives the best results. As your ovarian follicles take 90 days to mature, acupuncture will help their development. This time also helps us to improve both the quality and thickness of your uterus lining.
Acupuncture for Men:
Remember it takes two to make a baby. Sperm also takes around 90 days to develop. Treating both partners will give the best possible outcome.
Acupuncture treatment before ICSI increases sperm movement, morphology and fertilisation rates along with low sperm counts.
Acupuncture for Embryo Transfer
There has been much research done regarding the addition of acupuncture treatments before and after embryo transfer, overall the results show increased live birth rates, this is closely accompanied by the supportive nature of the treatments and their stress reducing effects. One study showed that women who received acupuncture treatment at transfer achieved pregnancy 64%. Those without acupuncture achieved pregnancy 42.5%.
We do offer pre & post embryo transfer treatments as a stand alone treatment however acupuncture treatments during the weeks before transfer improves the structure of your endometrium along with significantly improving implantation and pregnancy rates.
